Torneos confirms a new Challenger 125 at the Jockey Club of Rosario
The first edition of this official ATP Challenger Tour event will take place in February 2025.
Torneos, a leading company in the region in the sports and entertainment industry, announces the holding of a Challenger 125 at the Jockey Club in the city of Rosario, which will be held in week 6 of the official ATP calendar.
The Rosario Challenger, which will be held between February 2 and 9, 2025, will be the only one in the 125 category in the country and one of the most important in the region. Its holding is confirmed for three editions.
“We are proud of the trust given by ATP to hold a new Challenger. Just a few days ago, the ninth edition of the YPF Buenos Aires Challenger ended with records in terms of public and sponsors. Our intention is to work with the highest standards of quality and professionalism to organize an international level tournament. We continue working for the development of tennis in our country and it gives us great joy to hold a new tournament in such an emblematic club in Rosario,” said Gustavo Isaack, president of Torneos.
“We are pleased that Torneos has selected our JCR as the venue for Challenger 125 and it confirms us on the path that we have been following for almost ten years, when we founded the Tennis Development School directed by Alberto “Luli” Mancini, where hundreds of members receive comprehensive training. We will be the hosts of a sporting spectacle that will show Rosario as an ideal and enthusiastic city for the development of events of this magnitude. We are gratified by the trust placed in our institution,” said Charles Roberts, president of the Jockey Club of Rosario.
“I want to congratulate Torneos for this great initiative that confirms everything they have been doing for many years, which is working with the conviction that Argentine tennis grows hand in hand with opportunities for our players. Having a tournament of this level and in a city that breathes tennis like Rosario is excellent news for everyone,” said Agustín Calleri, president of the Argentine Tennis Association.
The city of Rosario has a strong imprint in sports. It is the birthplace of great athletes such as Lionel Messi, Ángel Di Maria and Luciana Aymar, as well as great tennis players: Guillermo and Federico Coria, Nadia Podoroska, Mariana Díaz Oliva, Facundo Bagnis, Alberto (Luli) Mancini, Eduardo Schwank and Mary Terán de Weiss. It also has the largest tennis school in the entire country. In addition, it has a level of infrastructure and connectivity that make this city a strategic place.
Torneos has a tennis unit that aims to develop this sport in the country. It has been in charge of the comprehensive realization of the Buenos Aires Challenger since 2015 and was in charge of the Córdoba Open ATP 250 that took place between 2019 and 2024.
